	Destruct and Autodestruct Sequences A high level command program incorporated into the main computer and subsystems of Federation starships, the destruct and autodesctruct sequences are intended to facilitate the destruction of a ship to prevent it from falling into threat forces' hands. The destruct sequence requires the voiceprint of the commanding officer and one or two other senior officers. After voiceprint, and sometimes hand print identification, a verbal code can be used to set the timer. The destruct or autodestruct sequence countdown can be aborted until t-minus five seconds and usually requires the confirmation of abort by the officers that initiated it.
